Something Nasty“Do you know what this is?” she asked awkwardly, her finger pointing to the offending green fuzz. It was strange that I didn’t notice the bread mold, but instead noticed her finger. It was long and slender and about a mile long. On the very end was a worn and chewed on nail that had been painted clear. She jerked me out of my thoughts on the practicality of clear nail polish with a repeat of the question. I nodded. Of course I knew what it was. A fungus that liked her sandwich more than she did.
